Hi guys this links to the ecg from a patient with ARF -> hyperkalaemia showing tented T waves and QRS widening:
…because we know how much you love to teach them Tom.
Actually, I forgot to ask you today about the answers I’d come up with. So I thought I’d post on here so the others could learn from my mistakes!
What I got:
Acute Type I – pH normal, PaO2 low, PaCO2 normal, HCO3 normal
Acute Type II – pH low, PaO2 low, PaCO2 high, HCO3 normal
Chronic (compensated) Type II – pH normal, PaO2 low, PaCO2 high, HCO3 high
Acute on Chronic (decompensated) Type II – pH low, PaO2 low, PaCO2 very high (compared to ‘normal’ hypercapnia) and high HCO3
Hi guys. I’m sitting here waiting for you to turn up to our regular 3pm session on a Wednesday afternoon, but so far no dice.
Have you cancelled it without me noticing?

Steve found a video and commented in another post. Of course he meant to put it up here as a new post, so I’m doing that for him. I can even embed the video here…..
